Mr. Anderson studied at Texas State University in Double Bass Performance with Dwight Shambley and Roger Fraterna of the Dallas Symphony. He also studied Electric Bass Performance at the Atlanta Institute of Music. He has performed with both Florida and New Mexico All-State Orchestras and with the Boston Symphony at the Tanglewood Festival in Lenox, MA. His other professional experience includes hundreds of theatrical performances with 14th Street Playhouse Company in Atlanta, Ga.

Susan Andrews, Piano
Ms. Andrews received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Georgia. She holds National Certification from Music Teachers National Association and was the past president of the Gwinnett County Music Teachers Association and Georgia Music Teachers Association. Ms. Andrews has over 30 years teaching experience and she joined our faculty in 2005.

Charles Anschuetz, Piano
Mr. Anschuetz is a 35 year veteran of teaching traditional and Suzuki piano, and sometimes a blend. Charles began his music education at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Md., and graduated with a degree in both piano and pipe organ from the University of Oklahoma. His areas of service include Vice President and President of the Orlando Music Club, and Vice President of the Central Florida Music Teacher's National Association. Teaching is his main interest, and he looks forward to a long and rewarding career in the Greater Atlanta area.

Rita graduated in 2003 with honors from the Atlanta Institute of Music and has extensive training in many styles including classical, Celtic and bluegrass as well as theory, composition and improvisation. She leads two successful Atlanta area bands, Mickle-a-Do Celtic Band and the Kamayacha Gypsy Band. She has taught for 12 years and enjoys teaching budding orchestra performers and those wanting to “fiddle”.

Chris Burroughs, Drums, Percussion
Born and raised in Rockford Illinois, drummer/percussionist Chris Burroughs began playing at the early age of four. Over the course of his professional career, Chris has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia. He has been blessed to record, tour and share the stage with artists such as: Lizz Wright, Jennifer Holiday, Russell Gunn, The Chris Duarte Group, Julie Dexter, Greg Tardy, Jacques Schwartz-Bart, Ike Stubblefield, Russell Malone, Khari Simmons, Rhonda Thomas, Joe Gransden, Marcus Printup among others. Chris is recognized as an endorser by Evans Drum Heads, Bosphorus Cymbals, Pro-Mark drum sticks, and Palmetto Drums. Chris loves to teach and has taught students of all ages and abilities for many years.

Anne Anderson, Violin, Viola, Beginning Piano
Ms. Anderson has intensely studied to teach the violin and also studied at Gwinnett Technical College for a specialized degree. Ms. Anderson primarily draws from the Suzuki approach and integrates music history, international classical studies, music theory and ear training into her teaching. She also incorporates fiddle and ethnic teaching styles. While Ms. Anderson specializes in young beginners, she accepts students of all ages. Her goal is to teach students strong practice techniques and help them develop a love for music as an art form.

Tina Darden, Piano, Yamaha
Tina Darden, a graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance/Pedagogy. She is also a graduate of Florida State University, where she earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance/Pedagogy. Tina has been teaching the Yamaha method in Atlanta since 1992. She has been a Yamaha Music Education Specialist, which qualifies her to teach other teachers, since 2002. Tina teaches Yamaha classes at Atlanta Music Education Center and teaches private piano lessons at New School of Music. She is the pianist for McKendree United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville and is the accompanist for the Atlanta Suzuki Flute Choir. Tina is an active member of GCMTA and GMTA.

Earl Williams, Saxophones
Mr. Williams was raised in a musical family that included Blues great Ruth Brown and big band leader Paul ‘Huckle Buck’ Williams. Earl attended Old Westbury College in NY for two years where he studied with jazz greats Ken McIntyre, Warren Smith and Sinclair Acey. He has performed in many of NYC legendary clubs such as Birdland, Lennox Lounge, Augie’s, The Cotton Club and Cleopatra’s Needle. Since moving to Atlanta in the spring of 08, Earl has established himself as a working freelance musician who continues to record, teach and perform locally and overseas.

Mirela Dragan, Piano
Ms. Dragan is classically trained and has been playing since the age of 5. Mirela received a Bachelor of Music degree in Atlanta GA and received the John Schneider Award for exceptional pianistic talent whilst studying Music Theory and Piano at Georgia State Univ. She has been teaching all ages and levels in Atlanta for over 15 years, and is an active accompanist.

Craig received his Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia State University with a dual concentration in Music Education and Orchestral Performance and he holds a Master of Science in Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern University. He has over 18 years experience in music education as a band and orchestra director at the elementary, middle and high school levels. He is the founding director of the Atlanta Youth Jazz Orchestra and has served as guest lecturer for the University of Tennessee Music Education Department. As a trumpeter Craig has toured internationally with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, performed with Natalie Cole, Four Tops, Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Atlanta Symphony and been a guest artist at the Montreaux Jazz Festival.

Angela Pearl is a professional musician in the Atlanta area with over 20 years of experience in both instrumental and vocal performance. After studying music education and performance at Berry College she went on to pursue a career in music performance, specializing in historical themed performances. She has been a musician and actor with the Georgia Renaissance Festival since 1996 and most recently served the assistant entertainment director and music director. She is currently a member of several historically themed performance groups in the metro Atlanta area. In addition to her primary instruments of voice and horn she also plays penny whistles, bodhran, flute, recorder, and trumpet. Angela specializes in breath control, multiple-tonguing, music interpretation, music performance, and music for actors.

Greg Holland, Trumpet
Mr. Holland is a native of Georgia. He earned an MA in Music Education from GSU and a Master of Music degree in Performance from Northwestern University where he was a student of Vincent Cichowicz. He is an active freelance musician, a member of the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, making several high profile appearances and recordings. He has over 30 years of private studio teaching and is Instructor of Trumpet at Gainesville State College.

Ms. Hung attended Taipei National Univ. of the Arts and Tunthai Univ. in Taiwan and received a degree in Bassoon Performance. Michelle started performing on the piano at the tender age of 6. Ms. Stoyanova received her Bachelors and Master degrees from the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria. Teodora equally enjoys teaching and performing. As a soloist and chamber musician she has toured Europe. After moving to USA she has performed with the Atlanta Flute Ensemble, ‘Aulos Winds’ & DaSalo Solisti Chamber Orchestra. She is principal flutist of Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra. Her teaching experience of over 15 years includes all ages and levels, from beginners through professionally trained adults.

Julie Mitchell-Smith, Piano
Ms. Mitchell received her Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance from Georgia College and State University Milledgeville where she was an active accompanist for the university’s choirs. She was awarded a Graduate Assistantship in Group Piano and a Masters Degree in Piano Pedagogy. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and is an active member of MTNA and has adjudicated piano competitions in Florida and Alabama.

Samantha Puckett, Voice
Samantha Puckett is a Mezzo-Soprano originally from Houston, Texas. She attended West Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music both in Vocal Performance. She has participated in the Taos Opera Institute in Taos, New Mexico, and this year will be attending the Harrower Summer Institute and Georgia State University as a member of the new Artist Diploma program. Samantha has worked with some of the finest teachers and coaches in the country, some of which include Mary Jane Johnson, Suzanne Mentzer, Carol Freeman, Kay Paschal-Freeman, and Ruth Falcon. Some of her operatic roles include Miss Todd, from The Old Maid and the Thief; Marcellina, form Le Nozze di Figaro; Baba, from The Medium; Ruth, from The Pirates of Penzance; and Dorabella from Cosi fan tutte. As well as being well versed on the operatic stage, Ms. Puckett has also been a featured soloist for 3 seasons of Texas: A Musical drama, which takes place every summer in the Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Samantha has also been featured as the Alto soloist for Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, and Bach’s Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott. Ms. Puckett is trained in and comfortable teaching all styles of singing (i.e. Pop, Country, R&B, Classical, Musical Theatre, etc.).

Ms. Unger received a Master's Degree at Rice University and pursued post-graduate study with Bernard H. Garfield. Shelley earned a Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University where she studied with Sidney Rosenberg. She recently completed her Doctoral Degree in Bassoon Performance with Dr. William Davis from the University of Georgia. She joined our faculty in 1997.

Ms. Tomeda studied Piano Pedagogy and received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with honor at Shorter University and Performance Diploma at Musashino Music Academy in Tokyo. She has been studying jazz piano performance with Dan Lawrence, a composer and a staff pianist at Ritz Carlton Hotel, since 2010. She enjoys performing classical and jazz as well as teaching all ages. She has over 20 years of teaching and performance experience. She joined our faculty in 1999.

Mr. Trocina received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Kennesaw State University and completed further studies at Georgia State University. He studied orchestral conducting under Thomas Wubbenhorst, Patricio Cobos, William Fred Scott and Steven Byess, and trumpet/brass performance under Mark Hughes, Jim Thompson and Stephen Winnick. Mr. Trocina is co-founder of New School of Music (1997), Music Director and Conductor of Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra (1997), and Music Director and Conductor for Northeast Atlanta Ballet (2008).

Mr. Gibadlo graduated from Atlanta Institute of Music in 2009. Mr. Gibadlo has a very hands on approach to teaching. Ms. Meredith attended Berry College where she received her Bachelor of Music degree, Georgia State University, for her Master of Music and a second Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Florida. Marcy has performed with the Atlanta Opera for 14 years and has sung on a professional level around the metro Atlanta area for many years. In 2010, she went back to school to pursue a speech therapy degree which has not only enhanced her musical performance but has been instrumental in helping performers with injuries and specialty concerns.

Josh has been playing music for over 16 years and teaching for over 6. In high school Josh studied the guitar, mandolin and banjo under Gerry Hall for 3 years learning the fundamentals of bluegrass. After high school Josh went on to continue his pursuit of music and recording and production at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. There he studied Jazz guitar under Andy Page for four years learning an array of styles from big band swing, to gypsy jazz, to bebop and organ music. After college Josh returned back to Atlanta for an internship at the acclaimed recording studio Tree Sound Studios. He continues to record and produce in the Atlanta area, while still finding time to play live music as well as teach, trying to pass along the tradition of the music he has come to know and love.

Dr. Thomas Wubbenhorst, Percussion, Drums, Conducting
Dr. Thomas Martin Wubbenhorst returned to metropolitan Atlanta in June 2015 where he joined the faculty of the New School of Music, became the founding music director and conductor of the Gwinnett Symphony Wind Orchestra, and became a part-time instructor of conducting at Georgia State University’s School of Music. Dr. Wubbenhorst is known throughout the United States, Canada, and South Africa as a conductor, clinician, composer, and percussion educator. He was an Associate Professor of Music at Georgia State University from 1991-2000 where he was chair of orchestral studies, director of university bands, and coordinator of instrumental conducting studies, and an Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Maine from 2002-2015 where he was director of percussion studies, conducted the Percussion Ensemble, and taught applied percussion, music fundamentals, and conducting.

Mr. Bice received his BME and MA (Voice & Piano) from Eastern Michigan University. He brings with him over 40 years of private vocal and piano instruction along with 20 years of television and radio experience. Piano students are taught traditional methods, technics and standard performance literature. Voice students will develop their vocal skills through repertoire that includes Broadway show tunes, contemporary tunes, and traditional classical and foreign language songs.

Ms. Campbell teaches Violin, Cello, Viola. She has studied the Suzuki Method from the age of 4 years through graduation performing with Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras University of Wisconsin Music. She earned her MPH from Georgia State University and her BS from the University of Wisconsin. She teaches the basics using Suzuki or Hal Leonard Essential Elements, customizing lessons to each student's skill level. She teaches ages 6 to adult. Julia encourages students to join local sessions and chamber orchestras, and to perform in recitals.

Brandon received a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance from Emmanuel College. His teaching experience includes years of private instruction as well as classroom experience through the public school systems. His performance experience includes Capitol City Opera Co., Athens Master Chorale, Brenau University’s Spectrum Singers and Gospel Choir, UGA’s African American Choral Ensemble, and many others. Currently, Brandon has a leadership role with Gwinnett Symphony Chorus and teaches all popular forms of vocal music ranging from Classical, R&B, Country, Jazz, Pop-Gospel, and even Spanish worship music.
