Our History... |
|
New School of Music, Inc. was founded in 1997 by
music educators Rick Smith and Robert Trocina. New School of Music
opened its first school in Tucker, GA. Later in 1997, Mr. Smith and Mr.
Trocina founded Greater Atlanta Center for Fine Arts, now the Gwinnett
Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, a tax-exempt, 501 (c) (3), non-profit
organization. In March of 1999, NSM opened a second location in Buford,
Georgia, just 2 miles from the Mall of Georgia. In April of 2002, NSM’s
Tucker location was moved to Lilburn to expand into it's new 3800 square
foot Lilburn Music Center. In August of 2003, NSM opened its third
music center in Dunwoody, Georgia.
NSM's three music centers currently teach over 1600
students per week and provide high quality instruments, music and
supplies to thousands of budding musicians each year. NSM also houses
early childhood music programs such as Yamaha Music Education System,
The Music Class, and Kindermusik. The Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra and
Chorus gives NSM students the opportunity to shine in outstanding
performance settings.
