ANNOUNCING OUR 2008/2009 MASTERWORKS SEASON!

The Gwinnett Community Symphony Orchestra & Chorus is a 501 (C) (3), Non-Profit Musical Arts Organization comprised of talented adult and youth musicians and provides outstanding educational performances of classical and popular music for the diverse metro Atlanta community.

Our ensembles include the Symphony Orchestra & Symphony Chorus, which consists entirely of volunteer musicians, the Ballet Orchestra, which is a blended orchestra consisting of professional and volunteer musicians, the Opera Orchestra, which consists entirely of professional musicians, and our professional ensembles in-residence which include the Gwinnett Horn Quartet, Gwinnett Brass Quintet, and Gwinnett String Quartet.

2008/2009 Masterworks Season Announced:

Our 2008/2009 Masterworks season consists of 8 major concerts and 23 performances! Masterworks include complete performances of Mozart: THE IMPRESARIO, Puccini: GIANNI SCHICCHI, Mozart: SINFONIA CONCERTANTE FOR VIOLIN & VIOLA, Williams: FANTASIA ON A THEME BY THOMAS TALLIS, Tchaikovsky: THE NUTCRACKER BALLET, Beethoven: TRIPLE CONCERTO, Faure: REQUIEM, Verdi: LA TRAVIATA, Tchaikovsky: SWAN LAKE, Borodin: POLOVTSIAN DANCES FROM PRINCE IGOR, as well as selections from Bernstein: CANDIDE, and Bizet: CARMEN. Guest Soloists will include Ivana Cetkovic, Violin (Great Britain), Virginia Slater, Viola (Great Britain), Suzana Pavlovic, Cello, Huu Mai, Piano, and the Capitol City Opera Soloists

Orchestra Musicians Needed:

The GCSO is now accepting applications for volunteer musicians to join our 85 member Symphony Orchestra and 45 member Ballet Orchestra. We have positions open on most instruments! Click "more" to complete our Online Application. HURRY.. auditions begin August 12.

Chorus Needs Singers:

The GCSO is now accepting applications to join our 50 member Symphony Chorus. The Symphony Chorus has openings for experienced singers on all voice parts. Click more" to enroll online. HURRY.. auditions begin August 12.

New Opera Orchestra:

GCSO is proud to announce the development of our new Opera Orchestra. The Opera Orchestra consists of 21 professional musicians who will perform major works with the Capitol City Opera as well as several professional chamber orchestra concerts throughout Atlanta.

New Ballet Orchestra:

GCSO is proud to continue in season 2 as the ballet orchestra for the Northeast Atlanta Ballet Company. This season we will perform the Tchaikovsky score to "The Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake" and will continue this collaboration through the 2011-2012 season and beyond.

Ensembles In-Residence:

The GCSO is proud to have 3 professional small ensembles in-residence: Gwinnett Horn Quartet, Gwinnett String Quartet, and Gwinnett Brass Quintet. These ensembles include some of the finest freelance musicians in Atlanta.
