Illinois University. I am presently accepting
intermediate/advanced/professional pianists who have mastered the
basics, but are ready to take their playing to a higher level. My
teaching emphasis is on technique and playing music expressively,
tailoring instruction to a student's specific needs, while making it an
enjoyable and pleasurable process.
I also offer coaching to improve sight-reading and memorization skills.
Lessons are generally once a week in ½ hour or 1 hour blocks. If you
prefer, lessons may be given more than once per week.

Biography: A native of
St. Louis, MO and the daughter of a piano teacher, Janna Williamson
began formal piano lessons at the age of four. She graduated summa cum
laude from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with a bachelor's
of music degree in piano performance. While at Wheaton, she was the
overall winner of the annual concerto competition and was twice given
the opportunity to perform Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the
Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra. She began teaching piano during
high school and now teaches several traditional private piano students
of all levels and ages, including adults. A member of the Music
Teachers' National Association, she is a Nationally Certified Teacher of
Music. She is also a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, a
certified Yamaha instructor, and a licensed Musikgarten teacher.
