Vocal Technique

There are a number of vocal techniques that a person can use, either when singing or speaking. These techniques can produce different vocal sounds, both musical and non-musical; or help a person to project their voice. The technique is physical, and can concern a person's posture whilst singing or speaking; or the way in which they actually produce the sound with their voice.

Singing

Singing requires different techniques, such as breath control, tone, posture, and raising the voice. Some singers find it helpful to visualize the sound coming out of their mouth in order to help them project their voice. Finding ways to lift the diaphragm such as singing musical scales can help singers reach higher (or lower) notes. This is called vocalization.
