Monica has been studying violin since a young age, beginning as a Suzuki Strings of Augusta student. At the age of 10, she moved to England, UK, and switched to the ABRSM method. As a teenager she played with the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra, the National Children’s and National Youth Orchestras of Great Britain and many other local ensembles. Monica attended the University of Georgia and graduated in 2020 with two Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance. In college she was a UGA String Project and Community Music School strings teacher. In the summers she worked at the Brevard Music Center, Heifetz International Music Institute, and was a rehearsal assistant for the UGA Summer Music Camps/Institute. After finishing university, she taught in the Gwinnett County Public School system before deciding to teach privately full-time. She enjoys sharing music with others and working with students to find their own creative voice. In her spare time she loves watching movies, nature walks, and tea time with friends.
